This chapter tells us how Rajam caused Swami and Mani friends once again with Pea, Shankar and Somu. Rajam decided to reconcile Swami and his earlier friends by calling them to his house. He told them that he had a surprise for them.
Everybody reached Rajam's residence. Swami and Mani knocked at the door of Rajam's room as soon as he opened the door, they pretended to be a blind kitten and a blind puppy and crawled into the room as such.
As they had closed their eyes, they did not see Somu, Pea and Shankar. Indeed, they touched and fondled their feet of Somu, Pea and Shankar, and when they open their eyes they saw that they had touched the feet of Somu, Shankar and Pea.
They got angry with Rajam and thought that Rajam had played a dirty trick on them. Rajam soon pacified them by praising them for their performance as the kitten and the puppy. He gave them a lecture on Friendship and offered to give them attractive gifts if they became friends once again. Rajam, indeed served the cause of friendship, in the hour of need.
