Part-1
The story begins in Jefferson, Mississippi, the month of September is running, and there has been no rain for 62 days. And a rumour has spread, and this rumour is being discussed at a Barbershop. It is that a black man, will Mayes, has attacked (dirty eyes, molesting) an unmarried white woman, Minnie Cooper.
Barber Henry Hawkshaw attempts to convince the men. He says no no I don't believe it at all because he may have just sparked the rumour because he knows that Mini Cooper is going to be 40 years old now and he is an unmarried woman, so maybe he did something wrong. He tries to convince the crowd that there is a rumour.
The barber says that you do not even have any evidence. You complain to the police, why are you here calling him stupid and mean. Babur explains this but nobody understands it. Meanwhile, John McClendon The man named comes inside the barbershop and says who is ready to ask everyone to go with me, so he said that you guys do not know that I have just received the news that a black Inn San is a night watchman who has teased Minnie Cooper, so a lot of the crowd gets ready to go, then he pulls out his gun but Henry Hawkshaw is still refusing. He says not to go and ask him first. Investigate but no one listens to him and the crowd goes away Henry Hawkshaw also goes after him to explain them.

This story now tells about Mini Cooper who is Mini Cooper and how he acts. Mini Cooper is a 38 or 39-year-old single woman who lives in a small house where this story is happening. Minnie Cooper lived with her old mother and aunt. She was very beautiful once upon a time when she was young, she was very beautiful, she was discussed in all Jefferson, but now she is old, now she is 39 years old Bone went and children now call her aunt saying.

Now this story comes on the other side, the crowd sit in the car and go to an ice factory where they work in blackmail where the crowd go there and make a voice to Will Mayes (black man) then will Mayes comes out and asks if The matter is but as soon as he comes out, these people tie his hands and beat him a lot but Henry hawkshaw says don't kill him but nobody listens to him.
John mclendon, will Mayes was being killed, then he seated him in the back seat of the car with hands and mouth and Henry Hawkshaw was sitting in the front seat, Henry Hawkshaw was being told to not kill him. black man) was also saying, listen to me, let me do an X Plan but no one listened to those people.
Henry Hawkshaw says let me go because the crowd was very angry so what do you know that john mclendon says it is okay you jump from the car but we will not stop the car Henry Hawkshaw jumps from the car.

The car starts towards a furnace and the same night Mini Cooper gets ready to go for a walk, he is very happy because his discussions are happening everywhere, now his friends come and prepare him well and Mini Cooper Cinema with his friend She goes to see her friend walking in the middle of the place where she goes and people start to see her and everyone starts talking about her. Mini cooper's friend asks her Is about that rumour but Mini Cooper does not speak anything and is happy in his heart. His friends notice that there is not a single Black Man there. Mini Cooper was so happy that he could not control his happiness. She was laughing so hard as she was able to watch movies and her friends had to bring her out of the theatre and her friends took her home by taxi and gave her ice treatment and also called the doctor. Rubbing ice gave him a little relief but his laughter returned as soon as the snow started to melt.

john mclendon comes home in the middle of the night his wife is still awake then mclendon asks her why are you still awake she says it's too hot and I can't sleep because of the heat so john mclendon gets angry and his wife and kills her a lot and pushes her to the chair and then comes out. Changes his t-shirt and sweat it out, he wipes the sweat and puts his pistol on the table. The night engulfs in silence and this is where the story ends.

यह कहानी Jefferson, Mississippi में शुरू होती हैं, सितम्बर का महीना चल रहा हैं,और यहाँ पर 62 दिन से बारिश नही हुई हैं।और एक अफ़वाह फैल गयी है,और इसी अफ़वाह की चर्चा एक नाई की दुकान पर हो रही हैं।अफ़वाह यह है कि एक काले आदमी , will mayes ने एक अविवाहित सफेद महिला Minnie Cooper पर हमला(गंदी नजर ,छेड़-खानी) किया हैं ।
नाई Henry Hawkshaw पुरुषों को समझाने का प्रयास करता है। वह कहता है की नहीं नहीं मैं बिल्कुल विश्वास नहीं करता क्योंकि हो सकता है कि उसने सिर्फ अफ़वाह उड़ाई हो क्योंकि उसे पता है कि मिनी कूपर अब 40 साल की होने वाली है और वह एक अनमैरिड वूमेन है तो हो सकता है कि उसी ने कुछ गलत अफ़वाह उड़ाई हो वह भीड़ को समझाने का प्रयास करता है।
नाई (henry Hawkshaw) कहता है कि तुम लोगों के पास कोई सबूत भी नहीं है तुम पुलिस से शिकायत करो तुम लोग यहां क्यों फ़ालतू में उसे भला-बुरा कह रहे हो बाबर इसी बात को समझाता है ,लेकिन किसी को भी समझ में नहीं आता है इसी बीच जॉन मैक्लेंडन नाम का आदमी नाई की शॉप के अंदर आता है और कहता है कि कौन-कौन तैयार है मेरे साथ जाने के लिए सब पूछते हैं कहां तो उसने कहा तुम लोगों को मालूम नहीं है कि अभी-अभी खबर मिली है कि एक काले इंसान ने जो एक नाइटवॉचमैन है उसने मिनी कूपर को छेड़ा है तो बहुत सारी भीड़ तैयार हो जाती है जाने के लिए फिर वह अपनी गन निकालता है लेकिन Henry Hawkshaw अभी भी मना कर रहा है वह कहता है कि नहीं नहीं पहले उससे जाकर पूछो की जांच पड़ताल करो लेकिन उसकी बात कोई नहीं सुनता और भीड़ चली जाती है Henry Hawkshaw भी उनके के पीछे जाता है ताकि उन लोगों को समझा सके।

थोड़ी दिन पहले ही उसने एक ओल्ड ब्लैक बैंक कैशियर को डेट किया था और उसके साथ घूमती फिरती थी लेकिन ओल्ड बैंक कैशियर की नई नौकरी लग गई तो उसने मिनी कूपर को छोड़ दिया तब से मिनी कूपर टूट सी गई है और थोड़ी परेशान हो गई है मिनी कूपर ने व्हिस्की पीना शुरू कर दिया और इसका रोज का शेडूल लिया है कि वह हर दिन शॉपिंग करती घूमने निकलती और शाम को अपने दोस्त के साथ सिनेमा देखने के लिये जाती है मिनी कूपर पहले भी एक इंसान पर इल्जाम लगाया था कि वह उसे उस समय देख रहा था जब वह अपने कपड़े चेंज कर रही थी।

अब यह कहानी दूसरी तरफ आती है भीड़ गाड़ी में बैठकर एक आइस फ़ैक्टरी में जाते हैं जहां पर will mayes night watchman काम करता है ,भीड़ वहां पर जाकर Will mayes (black man) को आवाज़ लगाते हैं तो will mayes बाहर आता है और पूछता है कि क्या बात है लेकिन जैसे ही वह बाहर आता है तो यह लोग उसके हाथ बांध देते हैं और उसे खूब मारते हैं लेकिन Henry hawkshaw (नाई) कहता है कि उसे मत मारो लेकिन उसकी बात कोई भी नहीं सुनता है।
John mclendon ,will mayes को मारे जा रहा था फिर उसने उसे गाड़ी की पिछली सीट पर हाथ और मुंह बांध कर बैठा दिया और अगली सीट पर है Henry Hawkshaw बैठा था , Henry Hawkshaw बोले जा रहा था कि नहीं नहीं उसे मत मारो will mayes (black man) भी कह रहा था मेरी बात सुन लो मुझे एक्स-प्लेन तो करने दो लेकिन किसी ने भी उन लोगों की बात नहीं सुनी ।
Henry Hawkshaw कहता है कि मुझे जाने दो क्योंकि भीड़ बहुत गुस्से में थी तो क्या पता कि इसे भी मारने लगते john mclendon कहता है कि ठीक है तुम गाड़ी से कूद जाओ लेकिन हम गाड़ी नहीं रोकेंगे Henry Hawkshaw गाड़ी से कूद जाता हैं।

गाड़ी एक भट्टी की तरफ जाने लगी उसी रात मिनी कूपर तैयार होकर घूमने के लिए जाती है वह बहुत खुश है क्योंकि हर तरफ उसके चर्चे हो रहे हैं अब उसके फ्रेंड आते हैं और उसे अच्छे से तैयार करते हैं और अपने दोस्त के साथ मिनी कूपर सिनेमा देखने जाती है वह अपने दोस्त के बीचो बीच चल रही है वह जहां पर जाती है लोग उसे देखने लगते हैं और सब लोग उसके बारे में बातें करने लगते हैं मिनी कूपर के फ्रेंड उससे पूछते हैं कि उस अफ़वाह के बारे में लेकिन मिनी कूपर कुछ नहीं बोलती है और मन ही मन खुश होती है उसके दोस्त यह नोटिस करते हैं कि वहां पर एक भी ब्लैक-मैन नहीं है मिनी कूपर इतना खुश थी कि वह अपनी खुशी को काबू नहीं कर पा रही थी और वह मूवीस देखने देखते ही वह इतना जोर जोर से हंसने लगी कि उसके दोस्तों को उसे थिएटर से बाहर लाना पड़ा और उसके दोस्त उसे टैक्सी से घर ले गए और उसे ice treatment दिया और डॉक्टर को भी बुलाया बर्फ रगड़ने से उसको थोड़ा सुकून मिला लेकिन जैसे ही बर्फ पिघल-ना शुरू हुआ फिर से उसकी हँसी वापस लौट आयी।

john mclendon आधी रात को घर आता हैं उसकी पत्नी अभी भी जाग रही होती है तो मैक्लेंडन उससे पूछता है कि तुम अभी तक क्यों जाग रही हो वह कहती है कि बहुत गर्मी है और गर्मी की वजह से मुझे नींद नहीं आ रही है तो john mclendon गुस्सा हो जाता है और अपनी पत्नी पर भड़क पड़ता है और उसे बहुत मारता है और उसे कुर्सी पर धकेल देता है और फिर बाहर आ जाता है । अपनी t shirt को चेंज करता है और उसे बहुत पसीना आता है ,वह पसीना को पोछता है, और अपनी पिस्तौल को टेबल पर रखता हैं ।नाइट एकदम सन्नाटे में छा जाती है और यहीं पर कहानी खत्म हो जाती है।
