What are the sources of tragic pleasure?
Many eminent critics other than those referred to above have expressed their views on the sources of tragic pleasure. First, according to Butcher, felicities of language are the source of tragic pleasure. The style and verse used by the tragic writer definitely give the audience pleasure.

Tragedy enables us to feel the thrill of violent emotions. The indulgence of such feelings is definitely pleasant. Probably, that is the reason why we enjoy tragedy.
